Frequently Asked Q’s

What is ORE.FM?

ORE.FM is a music discovery platform built exclusively for the underground metal community.

Built to use familiar swiping gestures seen on popular dating apps, ORE.FM lets metal heads quickly discover new music from bands and artists locally and all over the globe.

Swipe RIGHT to add to your Favorites playlist, swipe LEFT to skip, swipe UP for more info on the band.

Can anyone upload music?

Yes! Any artist or band is welcome to upload tracks to ORE.FM.

All music goes through a brief moderation process to ensure that only the best quality, non-copyrighted, genre-correct music appears on ORE.FM.

Anyone uploading music will be asked to acknowledge that they have the rights to their tracks and will not hold ORE.FM liable for any infractions of this rule.

Why is ORE.FM different from other streaming services?

ORE.FM uses the fast-paced, familiar swiping gestures from popular dating apps so that listeners can experience new music quickly and easily.

Before a track is uploaded, the band or artist selects a 30-second clip; think of this like your main picture on your dating profile, which highlights the heavist, fastest, coolest most brutalist part of their song.

Listeners will hear this selection from the Discover screen and will either swipe RIGHT to add the track to their Favorites playlist, swipe LEFT to skip to the next track or swipe UP to visit the band/artist profile.

The track in it’s entirety can either be listened to from the band profile or from the users Favorites playlist.

Will my band get paid for streams?

Unfortunately, at this point, payouts are not available for streams. My goal is to change this in the future but that relies fully on the success of ORE.FM.

Is ORE.FM free?

Yes, you can use ORE.FM completely free!

Like most apps, we use a freemium model that lets you use ORE.FM totally free.

If you want to support future growth and enhancements and want to unlock more abilities within the platform, paid plans are available.

How does the referral system work?

ORE.FM was built with a referral system in mind that allows you to unlock premium account features by inviting friends and bands to ORE.FM, without paying for anything.

Once you create a profile, you’ll have a unique referral code that can be shared with anyone you choose. When your code is used at signup, your account will receive credits which can be used to unlock premium account features.
